Sandalwood, or Chandan, is valued for its warm woody character. Herby Factor offers chips for appropriate aromatic use and powder described for suitable external cosmetic preparations. Those forms have different purposes and should be selected according to the actual product specification.
Chips preserve the wood's character
Chips retain visible structure and a different handling texture from powder. Ask for the botanical source, processing and available sourcing information. An appealing scent or pale colour does not independently verify the wood species, origin or absence of added fragrance.
Powder needs its own suitability check
Fine texture may suit a professionally assessed cosmetic formulation, but it does not establish safety for every skin type. Follow the supplied label and obtain appropriate formulation advice. Avoid eyes, broken skin and dust inhalation; stop use if irritation occurs. A small patch test cannot guarantee freedom from every later reaction.
Keep scent and treatment claims separate
The FDA explains that an aromatic or cosmetic purpose differs from a claim to treat disease. This guide makes no promise about whitening skin, clearing acne or treating anxiety. Do not ingest the material. Store the pouch sealed and dry, away from children, and assess ventilation for any appropriate aromatic application rather than assuming natural fragrance makes smoke harmless.
