Lemongrass brings a bright citrus aroma to an infusion without needing a slice of lemon. Herby Factor supplies dried leaves of Cymbopogon citratus, a plant used in Asian cooking and herbal drinks. Its appeal is as much about taste and aroma as it is about tradition.
What makes lemongrass useful?
University of Wisconsin Extension describes culinary lemongrass and its use in hot or iced herbal tea. An aromatic leaf can add interest to a drink or recipe with a short ingredient list. That sensory benefit is straightforward; it does not require a claim that the drink detoxifies the body or treats an illness.
Dried leaves are different from fresh stalks
Some recipes call for the tender base of a fresh lemongrass stalk. Dried leaves have a different texture and are often more convenient for an infusion that will be strained. Check which plant part the recipe expects before making a substitution. Fibrous pieces should not be left in a drink you intend to serve clear.
Planning a simple infusion
Follow the product's preparation instructions and use suitable food equipment and clean water. You can explore a plain infusion first, then use a trusted recipe if you prefer a blend. Confirm whether every ingredient in a blend suits your dietary needs instead of judging the mixture from the word herbal alone.
Leaves are not essential oil
Do not replace dried leaves with concentrated lemongrass or citronella oil in a drink. They are different products and are not interchangeable. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, take medicines or plan medicinal use, seek individual professional advice. For a household or café order, tell Herby Factor the quantity of dried leaves required and the intended culinary application.
