Brahmi is a familiar name in traditional herbal practice, but a common name alone is not enough to identify a product. Herby Factor's brahmi is Bacopa monnieri, also called water hyssop. This is the plant discussed in the research below.
Why is bacopa studied for memory?
A 90-day placebo-controlled trial tested a specific bacopa extract in healthy adults. Researchers reported improvement in a working-memory measure and some other test results. Only 62 of the 107 recruited participants completed the study with the required treatment compliance, an important limit when interpreting the findings.
What the findings do not establish
Results from an extract trial do not prove that raw brahmi herb or powder produces the same changes. They also do not establish a cure for dementia or an immediate boost before an examination. Different cognitive tests measure different abilities, and a short study cannot settle every question about long-term use.
Check the botanical and product form
When comparing products, keep the name Bacopa monnieri alongside the words whole herb, powder or extract. Herby Factor offers dried herb and powder; these are not presented as the clinical extract from that trial. Ask for the form you require rather than assuming that every brahmi-labelled item is interchangeable.
Taking a thoughtful approach
Speak with a healthcare professional before medicinal use if you take medication, have a medical condition, are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Seek assessment for troubling changes in memory instead of delaying care while trying a botanical. For a business enquiry, specify your intended application, quantity and documentation needs so the available material can be discussed accurately.
